MIDTERM OPEN HOUSE:
THIS WEEK, Midterm Open House on Thursday, November 2, 5-8pm. Feel free to bring a friend or two who might be interested in Tea to have a sweet and tea and watch temae (tea-making procedure). We’ll also continue with learning basics for those who’ve been attending regularly. When a member is comfortable folding the fukusa and handling a natsume (tea caddy) and chashaku (tea scoop), you’re ready to start doing temae!
HALLOWEEN CHAKAI -
Los Angeles Urasenke Tankokai held their first ever Halloween Chakai on October 15 at Shoseian Teahouse in Glendale. A combination of cute and creepy utensils and dressed up guests and hosts made it a fun and unusual day, including UCLA alum Andre Nguyen.
